The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI), the national voice for not-for-profit hospice providers, welcomes Hospice of the Panhandle as one of its newest members.
Hospice of the Panhandle believes that hospice care is more about living rather than dying. For more than 40 years, they have helped those with serious, life-limiting illnesses manage their pain and symptoms wherever the patient calls home. Our experienced team of doctors, nurses, certified nursing assistants, home hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, and more learns what matters most to each patient and their family.
“Hospice of the Panhandle’s dedication to providing care to their patients where they feel most at home aligns with NPHI’s values,” said Tom Koutsoumpas, NPHI CEO. “I am thrilled to welcome Hospice of the Panhandle to our member organization, and I look forward to future collaborations.”
The Hospice on the Panhandle team is dedicated to managing symptoms, assisting with routines of daily living, providing emotional and spiritual support, working through grief, and helping their patients achieve their goals to live more fully each day. They provide personalized care wherever you call home. Whether you live in a private residence, apartment, assisted living facility, or nursing home.
“We believe this is a great fit for us,” said Hospice of the Panhandle CEO, Margaret Cogswell, who has been at the helm at Hospice of the Panhandle for 35 years. “We know that we will reap great benefits from collaborating and networking with our colleagues who work in the nonprofit hospice and palliative care environment.”
NPHI looks forward to working with Hospice on the Panhandle and continuing to advocate for high-quality, community-based, not-for-profit hospice, palliative, and advanced illness care for patients nationwide.
“I think we were looking for a group of other professionals who believe in the mission and values of their organizations, with the focus on taking the best possible care of patients and families,” Cogswell said. “It is always encouraging to find like-minded professionals – and to interact with them – there is so much value in that networking.”
