We are delighted to introduce Marian Grant, DNP, ACNP-BC, ACHPN, FPCN, FAAN, RN, as the latest addition to the team at NPHI. She joins us as our Innovation Lab Clinical Advisor, bringing a wealth of expertise and experience.

Dr. Grant’s extensive background in healthcare is far-reaching. As a consultant for the Coalition to Transform Advanced Care (C-TAC), the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC), and the National Patient Advocacy Foundation, she has played a crucial role in shaping healthcare policy and advocacy. Her contributions extend to important projects like the University of Washington’s MessageLab Serious Illness Messaging project, VitalTalk, and various hospice organizations.

In addition to her consultancy work, Dr. Grant maintains an active clinical practice as a nurse practitioner at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She also serves as adjunct faculty at both the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins Schools of Nursing.

Dr. Grant’s dedication to healthcare policy was recognized when she was selected as a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow in 2014. She has made contributions on Capitol Hill and at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, advocating tirelessly for comprehensive patient care.

Before commencing her career in healthcare, Dr. Grant sharpened her skills in marketing at the Procter & Gamble Company, where she contributed to renowned brands such as Max Factor and Cover Girl cosmetics. Her expertise in communications and messaging brings valuable insight to her new capacity at NPHI.

As NPHI’s Innovation Lab Clinical Advisor, Dr. Grant will leverage her extensive experience as a Registered Nurse and policy advocate to inform the development of clinical care pathways and additional resources for nonprofit providers. These resources will specifically cater to patients with the core four hospice diagnoses.

The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI) is a membership organization comprising nonprofit community-integrated hospice and palliative care providers. These members are dedicated to ensuring patients and their families have access to care that reflects their individual goals, values, and preferences.
