The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI), the national voice for not-for-profit hospice providers, welcomes Hospice of Humboldt as one of its newest members.
Hospice of Humboldt provides heartfelt end of life care and bereavement services to all who need them in northern Humboldt County, California. As a stand-alone non-profit, it was founded in 1978 by a small group of volunteers.
“NPHI is excited to extend a warm welcome to Hospice of Humboldt,” said Tom Koutsoumpas, NPHI CEO. “I deeply resonate with their vision that no one dies alone or afraid, and look forward to making that a reality alongside our committed NPHI members.”
Hospice of Humboldt offers hospice care, grief support, palliative care, and a specialized end of life facility. Their patient care team is trained in patient-centered care and is made up of a medical provider, nurse, home health aide, social worker, chaplain, patient care volunteer, and grief counselor. Notably, they provide community grief support groups in-person and virtually for those in the community.
“On behalf of Hospice of Humboldt, I am looking forward to collaborating on advocacy and education initiatives with other dedicated NPHI members,” said Dianne Keating, CEO. Patients, families, and community members deserve a holistic approach to care, and I am grateful to be working to that goal together.”
NPHI looks forward to working with Hospice of Humboldt and continuing to advocate for high-quality, community-based, not-for-profit hospice, palliative, advanced illness care to patients throughout the nation.
